Senior Psychologist Job Description\

The Senior Psychologist will be a key member of an interdisciplinary team, providing professional psychology services to young adults with complex disability needs aged between 18 and 26 years.

\Key Responsibilities:\
  • Deliver high-quality professional psychology services in line with best practice standards.\
  • Carry a clinical caseload appropriate to the post, ensuring effective case management and timely interventions.\
  • Provide comprehensive psychological services including assessment, formulation, intervention, and management in various settings such as home, community, and clinic environments.\
  • Contribute a psychological perspective to case planning and multi-agency collaboration, enhancing service user outcomes.\
  • Engage in family meetings and case reviews to provide expert psychological input.\
  • Represent and advocate for the psychological needs of service users, promoting their rights and dignity.\
  • Work within professional competence limits in line with principles of best practice, professional conduct, and clinical governance.
\Requirements:\
  • A university degree or diploma (QQI level 8 equivalent) obtained with first or second-class honors in Psychology.\
  • An Irish postgraduate professional psychology qualification accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland in Clinical, Counselling, or Educational Psychology.\
  • At least five years of satisfactory postgraduate experience in professional psychology, demonstrating expertise and leadership skills.
