OASIS Group seeks a highly skilled Medical Specialist to join our Paediatrics team. As a Medical Specialist, you will play a crucial role in providing medical care to patients and contributing to the development of our clinical services.
About the Role
This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an experienced Medical Specialist to work with our team. Your primary responsibilities will include participating in multi-disciplinary teams, diagnosing and treating patients, and ensuring that duties and functions are undertaken in a manner that prioritises patient safety and well-being. You will also be required to assess patients on admission and/or discharge, write detailed reports, order and interpret diagnostic tests, initiate and monitor treatment, communicate effectively with patients and clients, and represent the department/profession/team at meetings and conferences as appropriate.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate as a member of a multi-disciplinary team in the provision of medical care to patients.
- Diagnose and treat patients.
- Ensure that duties and functions are undertaken in a manner that prioritises the safety and well-being of patients.
- Assess patients on admission and/or discharge as required and write detailed reports in the case notes.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
- Initiate and monitor treatment.
- Communicate effectively with patients and clients.
- Represent the department/profession/team at meetings and conferences as appropriate.
Legislation/Policy/Procedures
As a Medical Specialist, you will be required to co-operate with measures necessary to ensure compliance with the requirements of the European Working Time Directive and related Irish legislation. You will also be expected to comply with statutory and regulatory requirements, agreed training principles where appropriate, corporate policies and procedures, and human resource policies and procedures.
Education and Training
We value ongoing education and professional development, and we expect all Medical Specialists to participate in mandatory and recommended educational and professional development programmes in accordance with organisational/professional requirements. You will be required to maintain and develop your professional expertise and knowledge by actively engaging in continuing professional education and development. We also require you to make satisfactory progress in your training and development as per the requirements of the training body.
Health & Safety
Your health and safety is of utmost importance to us. As a Medical Specialist, you will be required to comply with the policies, procedures, and safe professional practice of the Irish Healthcare System. You will need to document appropriately and report any near misses, hazards, and accidents, and bring them to the attention of relevant/designated individual(s) in line with best practice.
