**Naval Service Marine Engineering Leadership Opportunity**

Are you a seasoned marine engineer looking for a challenging role where you can utilize your technical expertise and leadership skills? We are seeking a Direct Entry Marine Engineering Officer to join our team.

As a key member of our engineering department, you will oversee the maintenance and performance of critical onboard systems, ensuring the Naval Service mission of maritime defence and security is supported.

You will be responsible for:

  • Leading and managing Engineering Branch personnel
  • Oversight of technical operations and key ship systems
  • Training and readiness for fire and hull breach scenarios

In this role, you will also have the opportunity to participate in project management, maintenance planning, and technical research, with access to funded training and professional development opportunities.

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Citizenship: Irish citizen or legally entitled to work in Ireland
  • Character & Fitness: Must meet medical, physical, and security clearance standards
  • Age: Under 50 years on 31 December in the year of application
  • Qualifications: Certificate of Competency (Marine Engineering Officer) Class 1 or Class 2 (Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport)
