Occupational Therapist Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our team in delivering high-quality care to children and young people with complex needs.

This role involves working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to develop and deliver client-centered, holistic care. You will conduct assessments of children and young people to identify areas of need and potential intervention.

The key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Developing and delivering intervention programmes to address the identified areas of need in accordance with best practice guidelines.
  • Monitoring the progress of interventions and making adjustments as required.
  • Providing advice, support, and training to families and carers, as well as other healthcare professionals, to facilitate the implementation of intervention programmes.
  • Participating in the Assessment of Need (AON) process and conducting AON under the disability act.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of all interventions provided and ensuring that all documentation meets professional and service standards.
  • Keeping up-to-date with best practice guidelines, relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.

To be successful in this role, you must have a recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy and CORU registration as an Occupational Therapist. Additionally, you should have a minimum of one year post-qualification experience as an Occupational Therapist and experience working with children and young people with complex needs.

You will also require excellent interpersonal and communication skills, fluency in English, and the ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative. Good organisational and time management skills are essential, as is the ability to travel to different locations as required.
