Job Title:

Youth Support Worker

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Youth Support Worker and make a positive impact on the lives of young people leaving care.

In this role, you will work closely with our team to provide support and settlement services to young people in need.

As a Youth Support Worker, you will be responsible for working within the framework of our overall objectives and values, undertaking work with individuals in the community, and implementing our project's policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing Aftercare Plans and implementing them jointly with social workers
  • Preparing young people for independence by addressing practical, self-care needs, health, budgeting, domestic skills, and psychosocial needs
  • Ensuring young people receive their full income entitlements, if applicable
  • Informing young people about available services
  • Maximizing education, training, and employment outcomes for young people
  • Monitoring progress and making contact with local services and community groups relevant to the needs of young people
  • Establishing effective links between our organization and such groups
  • Liaising regularly with managers about issues arising from work with individual cases
  • Participating in supervision sessions and keeping accurate records and statistics

What We Are Looking For

  • Extensive experience working with young people in care or marginalized young people
  • A third-level qualification in social care or a related field
  • Experience of key-working clients or individual casework
  • Ability to manage challenging behavior
  • Good understanding of issues affecting young people leaving care
