The successful candidate will be required to undertake a 0.5 Whole-Time Equivalent (WTE) post as a tutor in Medicine, with a focus on delivering high-quality clinical education and assessment to medical students.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for a medical practitioner to develop their skills in medical education and contribute to the development of future healthcare professionals.
The appointee will join a small team of staff who are responsible for organizing and delivering education and assessment to UCC medical students and occasional students on UCC-arranged electives who are on clinical placement in CUH.
As a tutor in Medicine, the successful candidate will be involved in the organization and scheduling of students allocated to CUH Medicine for clinical teaching and site induction at the outset of attachments.
They will also be required to participate in organizing and undertaking assessments and providing feedback to students from time to time.
The Department of Medicine supports students across multiple years of the programme, and the tutors in Medicine take primary responsibility for specific stages of the programme.
While there may be some expectations that the tutor will support other team members in the delivery of the programme on an agreed basis.
Possession of MRCPI or an equivalent postgraduate professional qualification in Internal Medicine is required for this role.
Prior experience in the organization and delivery of clinical education and/or a qualification in health professionals education is desirable but not essential.
