Senior Process Safety Consultant Job Description

As a senior process safety consultant, you will lead and plan process safety activities during the design stages of projects, overseeing process safety colleagues. This role requires strong leadership skills, as well as excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Lead process safety activities during project design stages.
  • Manage process safety colleagues to ensure effective collaboration.
  • Act as a point of contact for clients, vendors, and engineering teams to gather information and resolve issues.
  • Conduct and report on process hazard analysis reviews, including HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, and other relevant analyses.
  • Prepare and deliver process safety documents, such as hazardous area classifications and explosion protection documents.
  • Complete quantitative risk analysis consequence modeling, including toxic dispersion, fire, and explosion modeling, as well as process safety calculations.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in process or chemical engineering, or equivalent.
  • Chartered engineer with a relevant institute, or working towards chartered status.
  • Minimum 15 years' experience in process safety and process design.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and adapt to project demands.
  • Knowledge of Irish and EU health and safety legislation, codes of practice, and standards.
