About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Renewable Energy Inspector to join our team at the HSA (Health and Safety Authority). The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of direct reports, creating a positive working environment and supporting their professional and personal development.

The Senior Renewable Energy Inspector will carry out inspections, market surveillance, and investigations within relevant areas and input these into platforms in accordance with their programme of work. They will also prepare and deliver reports and updates to relevant managers on the performance of the team and highlight any corrective actions taken to address issues of concern.

The ideal candidate must possess a primary degree in Engineering, Science, or other appropriate disciplines and have a minimum of 3 years' relevant work experience in a regulatory, process industry, engineering, or renewable energy sector. They must also demonstrate working knowledge of relevant standards, codes of practice, and international best practices in the renewable energy sector.

The Senior Renewable Energy Inspector will be responsible for initiating and developing key policy initiatives for relevant sectors/policies or legislative areas, assisting in the development of national or EU policy initiatives. They will work collaboratively to share data/information, expertise, insights, and advisory support ensuring strong alignment across the authority as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of direct reports, creating a positive working environment and supporting their professional and personal development.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Primary degree in Engineering, Science, or other appropriate disciplines.
  • Minimum of 3 years' relevant work experience in a regulatory, process industry, engineering, or renewable energy sector.
  • Working knowledge of relevant standards, codes of practice, and international best practices in the renewable energy sector.
