Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electrician/Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical and mechanical systems, with a focus on troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of industrial equipment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities
  • Wiring & Compliance: Ensure all electrical wiring and drawings are up-to-date and compliant with current industry standards and codes.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Develop and implement a preventative maintenance program for all equipment, including pneumatic systems.
  • Troubleshooting & Repairs: Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repairs to ensure continuous operation of equipment.
  • Electro-Mechanical Support: Provide technical support to the site, offering guidance and hands-on assistance when needed.
  • KPI Monitoring: Closely monitor line and machine performance, intervening promptly if there's any decline in KPIs, to ensure optimal performance.
  • Equipment Modifications: Collaborate with equipment suppliers to install, modify, and maintain new machinery.
  • Fault Detection & Resolution: Proactively detect faults, decide whether immediate repair is necessary, and take action to resolve the issue.
  • Training & Development: Mentor and coach team members, helping them develop skills in electro-mechanical systems and troubleshooting.
  • PLC Programming & Computer Networks: Troubleshoot PLC programs and computer networks, in collaboration with the IT department when required.
  • Parts Management: Ensure timely ordering of necessary parts, maintaining clear communication with management.
  • Project Support: Collaborate with the project team on new projects and site improvements.
  • Innovation: Bring forward new ideas to improve site operations, maintenance practices, and efficiency.
  • Workshop Maintenance: Maintain a high standard in the workshop, ensuring tools and resources are well organized.
  • Environmental Awareness: Promote sustainability, improve environmental awareness, and optimize resource utilization on-site.
Key Skills & Qualifications
  • Trades Qualification: Relevant electrical qualification required.
  • Experience: Proven experience in electro maintenance, including working with PLCs, 3-phase motors, control systems, and pneumatic systems.
  • PLC & Computer Skills: Experience troubleshooting and programming PLCs is essential. Strong computer skills are a must.
  • Milling & Packing Equipment: Familiarity with milling, packing, and food processing equipment is an advantage.
  • Industrial Electrical Systems: Experience with 24V, 110V, and 220V systems, along with common industrial bearing systems.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, especially in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Teamwork & Initiative: Ability to work well in a team, while also demonstrating initiative and leadership when required.
  • Food Safety Standards: Understanding of food industry standards is desirable.
  • Call-Out Availability: Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required for call-outs and breakdowns. Safety and Compliance: Committed to maintaining high safety standards and ensuring compliance with all relevant codes and regulations.
