Job Title: Orthopedic Care Specialist

As a skilled and dedicated professional, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to physicians and clinical staff in an orthopedic practice setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with various medical procedures, including wound care, casting, and drawing up injections, vaccines, or other medications as needed.
  • Prepare patients for exams, interviews, and procedures by gathering medical history, documenting information, and ordering radiographs according to physician protocols.
  • Accurately document all pertinent details in the electronic health record, reviewing and updating allergy lists, medication lists, social histories, and surgical histories as necessary.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to coordinate patient care, educate patients on proper wound and pin care, cast care, and postoperative care, and ensure that exam rooms are stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Travel to satellite locations to support assigned physicians and perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Medical Assistant Certification or Athletic Trainer Licensure within 120 days of hire; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education
  • CPR certification and completion of Act 34, Act 33, and Act 73 clearance certificates

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience as an Ortho Technician, Medical Assistant, or Athletic Trainer Certified
