Environmental Sustainability Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious professional to join our sustainability team as an Environmental Sustainability Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in driving our environmental management initiatives and contributing to our goal of reducing our carbon footprint.

About the Role

The successful candidate will receive comprehensive training to effectively complete the following:

  • Day-to-day monitoring of wastewater treatment facilities
  • Involvement in projects to reduce energy consumption through capital expenditure and continuous improvement
  • Collaboration with engineering and production departments on the day-to-day running of facilities relating to operation and sustainability
  • Daily monitoring of all parameters outlined in the sites EPA license for environmental emissions
  • Ensuring all sampling programmes for discharges are carried out
  • Interpreting energy and water-related data for the site and using this data to identify trends
  • Upkeep of all environmental documentation
  • Organising of infrastructural improvement works relating to environmental equipment with contractors
  • Liaising with environmental regulatory bodies such as the EPA, should they contact the site for any reason
  • Coordinating with environmental legislation
  • Noise and pollution control management
  • Identification of possible water-reduction projects around the site
  • Identification of possible energy-reduction projects around the site
  • Presentation of the site's overall Sustainability performance to head management
  • Maintenance of the site's ISO14001 & ISO50001 standards

To be considered for this role, you must hold a degree in one of the following relevant disciplines:

  • Environmental Science
  • Ecological and Plant Science
  • Environmental Engineering
  • Geography
  • Geophysics
  • Chemistry

Requirements

This role requires a high level of autonomy, strong analytical skills, and excellent communication and collaboration abilities. You must also have a proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
