  • Perform detailed skin examinations using a dermatoscope to assess moles and other skin lesions.
  • Conduct mole mapping and ongoing skin surveillance to facilitate the early detection of skin cancer.
  • Accurately diagnose various forms of skin cancer, including melanoma, and manage patient referrals as needed.
  • Utilize a dermatoscope to enhance the precision and effectiveness of skin assessments.
  • Collaborate closely with dermatologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain meticulous patient records, documenting all findings and treatment plans.
  • Educate patients on skin cancer prevention, skin care routines, and the importance of regular check-ups.

Qualifications:

  • A medical degree with full registration as a GP with the Irish Medical Council (IMC).
  • Specialized training or significant experience in dermoscopy.
  • Proficiency in using a dermatoscope for detailed skin examinations and mole mapping.
  • Strong diagnostic skills, particularly in identifying and managing skin cancer.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex medical information clearly to patients.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying informed on the latest dermatological advancements.
