This role is focused on supporting the purchasing function based in Limerick, ensuring timely ordering and scheduling of production materials and consumables, and maintaining stock levels. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in purchasing and supply chain management, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To facilitate production by ensuring timely ordering of materials and consumables in accordance with production forecasts.
  • To record stock levels and purchase stock in a timely manner, updating systems to reflect orders placed and received.
  • To develop and maintain professional relationships with colleagues across departments, improving communication and understanding within the business.
  • To lead and support research and analysis for key business projects and developments, focusing on continuous improvement, cost savings, and strategic change.
  • To ensure all pricing and quotations are concise and relevant.
  • To generate and maintain reports on stock, stock holdings, and agreements, providing analysis for specific customer accounts.
  • To attend supplier meetings and assist with quality auditing of the supply base.
  • To raise quality documentation as required for release to suppliers.
  • To proactively pursue and participate in continuous improvement projects and operational excellence initiatives.
  • To complete administrative tasks electronically and on paper.
  • To support the implementation of transferrable functions across sites in Ireland.
  • To maintain raw material stock levels at an acceptable level, minimizing aged and obsolete stock reduction.
  • To participate in stock takes as needed.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in purchasing and supply chain management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Results-driven approach with a focus on continuous improvement.
