Adult Psychiatry Clinical Specialist

To provide high-quality clinical care to adult patients with mental health disorders, you will work across community settings within Mayo Mental Health Community Services.
You will contribute to the assessment, diagnosis, and management of service users while developing advanced clinical and professional skills as part of a multidisciplinary team.
This post is based across Ballinasloe's Community Services. A driving licence is essential for this role.
What We Offer- The salary scale for this position is €68,891-€81,126.
- Additional remuneration for on-call duties and overtime applies depending on the rota.
- 30 days annual leave.
- 10 public holidays.
- 37 hours per week, plus on-call supplements.
- The current vacancy is temporary (3 months) and full-time with the possibility of extension.
- Provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for adult patients with psychiatric conditions.
- Participate in the on-call rota for General Adult Psychiatry, covering inpatients, emergency referrals, and liaison psychiatry.
- Contribute to care planning and case management in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Conduct ward rounds, outpatient clinics, and community follow-up clinics under consultant supervision.
- Liaise with primary care teams, emergency services, and voluntary organisations involved in mental health support.
- Full registration with the Irish Medical Council.
- A minimum of 24 months of post-internship clinical experience in Psychiatry.
- Able to take up the appointment by August/September 2025 and have a critical skills employment permit or permission to live and work in Ireland.
- Prior experience working in an Irish or UK healthcare setting.
- Participation in quality improvement or patient safety initiatives.
