**Job Purpose**

We seek a Data Center and Hosting Team Operations specialist to assist in the development and support of EirGrid's Data Centers, SAN Technology, VMWare estate, Microsoft Operating Systems, and Critical Infrastructure.

The focus will be on supporting major programs of work to upgrade and implement on-premise and Co-Location facilities.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Installation of hardware technologies in on-premise and Co/Lo environments.
  • Supporting the Data Center and Hosting Lead in delivering project targets and operational KPIs.
  • Day-to-day operations of Storage Area Networks within Critical National Infrastructure which is 24x7.
  • Testing and implementation of operational on-premises physical and virtual Windows server-based infrastructure within defined time scales.
  • Testing and operating of VMWare environments.
  • Assisting with operating Disaster Recovery procedures.
  • Collaborating with project teams and business users to analyze business and technical infrastructure requirements.
  • Acting as an escalation point for issues that arise on I.T. Systems that manage Critical National Infrastructure & Control Rooms.
  • Logging support requests with 3rd party vendors.
  • Identifying, prioritizing, and resolving incidents and problems.
  • Working with Cyber Security and internal I.T. Teams to support critical security patch deployment across varied I.T. Systems.
  • Windows Server Infrastructure, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Sites and Services.
  • Azure Administration and familiarity with IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
  • Supporting the asset management of Data Center infrastructure including inventory maintenance, warranty management, vendor support, and configuration backups.
  • Documenting Runbooks and processes to support On-Call Team.
  • Operating within EirGrid's Governance & Planning guidelines when developing and delivering IT solutions.
