Toolroom Leadership Role

The Toolroom Supervisor plays a pivotal role in the success of manufacturing operations, overseeing a skilled team to ensure efficient tooling, maintenance and repairs.

This is a critical leadership position that requires strong CNC and manual machining skills. Experience with hot and cold runner systems, precision assemblies, heat treatment and tooling finishing processes are essential. A confident decision-maker with excellent communication skills is required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage daily toolroom activities, including preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, breakdown repairs and new tooling projects.
  • Operate and supervise work using CNC machines (EDM, Wire Eroder, CNC mill/lathe) and manual machinery (grinders, lathes, drills, welders).
  • Maintain high-quality tooling meeting production-ready standards.
  • Provide technical support to production and engineering departments.
  • Mentor apprentices and junior team members promoting skills development and continuous improvement.

Requirements
  • Strong CNC and manual machining skills.
  • Experience with hot and cold runner systems and precision assemblies.
  • Familiarity with heat treatment and tooling finishing processes.
  • Leadership experience or ability to step up in a senior toolroom capacity.
  • Confident decision-maker with excellent communication skills.
