Mental Health Therapist Role

As a mental health therapist, you will provide short-term therapeutic supports to young people aged 12-25 years who are experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties.

This involves working one-on-one with the young person and sometimes their family members as well. Our therapists come from diverse professional backgrounds and work as part of transdisciplinary teams based at our services across the country.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct initial mental health assessments with young people focusing on both strengths and difficulties
  • Provide evidence-informed brief therapeutic interventions to young people
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement risk management plans as appropriate
  • Participate in clinical supervision and line management for support and guidance
  • Work in accordance with our policies, procedures, and guidelines
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Doctorate or equivalent in Clinical/Counselling/Educational Psychology and/or Chartered Clinical/Counselling/Educational Psychologist registration/accreditation
  • Experience working in health and social care settings supporting people with their mental health needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage a busy workload
  • Capacity to work co-operatively as part of a team
