Senior Speech Therapist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Senior Speech Therapist to join our team and provide high-quality speech and language therapy services to children aged 0-18 years and families within the region.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to work across various settings, including clinics, schools, preschools, and community settings.

About the Role:
  • Assess, diagnose, and intervene in cases of speech and language disorders in children.
  • Develop and implement effective treatment plans to improve communication skills in children.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Speech and Language Assessment: Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify speech and language disorders in children.
  2. Treatment Planning: Develop and implement tailored treatment plans to address specific communication needs of children.
  3. Clinical Supervision: Provide clinical supervision to junior therapists to ensure high-quality service delivery.
Requirements:
  • Registration as a Speech & Language Therapist by the relevant professional body.
  • 3 years' full-time post-qualification clinical experience.
  • Annual registration on the relevant therapist register.
  • Eligibility to work in the State.
Desirable Criteria:
  • Experience of working with children with disabilities.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working with children with eating, drinking, and swallowing difficulties.
  • Experience working with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).
