Job Title:

A Manager of Forestry Operations

We are seeking a professional with expertise in forest management to join our team as a Forestry Manager. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of forestry practices, commercial forestry, and the ability to work independently.

Key responsibilities include managing woodland resources, planning reforestation sites, felling licences, woodland improvement applications, and native woodland scheme management. Additionally, the role involves site inspection, advising owners on best forest practices, maintaining inventory and financial data on bespoke management systems, working with ecologists, completing environmental reports, and maintaining industry standards on health and safety and Forest Management Certification.

The successful candidate will be responsible for building upon existing databases, developing client lists, and integrating with present workforces. They will also be expected to manage work crews, plan projects, and maintain records.

To be successful in this role, you will need a recognised qualification in forestry at level 7/8 on the QQI Framework of qualifications or equivalent. You should also have competence in GIS, excellent planning and project management abilities, excellent interpersonal skills, full driving licence, and excellent IT skills.
