We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team in the deployment, operation, maintenance, and future growth of our national telecommunications network.

About the Role:
  • This position involves the deployment and integration of new communications infrastructure into our telecoms network.
  • Ongoing support and maintenance of various telecommunications equipment and infrastructure will be key responsibilities.
  • The role includes operational technologies supported such as digital polling radio, microwave point-to-point radio, fibre multiplexers, telephony systems and associated cabling.
  • Support and maintain DC and backup power systems.
  • Implement and support SCADA and Protection systems used to control the electricity network.
  • Project management support for telecommunications projects within our organization will also be required.

As an on-call or availability-based role, you may be required to work flexibly within your jurisdiction with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration on at least one anchor day per week.

Key Requirements:
  • A third level qualification in an electrical/telecommunications/IT discipline or three years relevant work experience from a trade background is required.
  • You must have a safety-focused approach to work.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills are essential.
  • Accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail are crucial.
  • Adaptability and flexibility are also required.
