Mazars Chartered Accountants offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced accountant with a strong financial background to join our Financial Accounting and Outsourcing Services Division.

As a member of our team, you will be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of clients, preparing management accounts, VAT returns, and statutory financial statements.

You will also be responsible for overseeing billing and fees, including budgeting and the timely preparation of invoices.

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior accountant to join our team and take on a leadership role in delivering high-quality service delivery to our clients.

As a member of our Financial Accounting and Outsourcing Services Division, you will work closely with our team to ensure our clients receive exceptional service delivery while adhering to client and filing deadlines.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring adherence to client and filing deadlines through planning, scheduling, and overseeing individual client projects
  • Managing a diverse portfolio of clients
  • Preparing management accounts, VAT returns (inc VAT, VIES, and Intrastat Returns), statutory financial statements, complete reconciliations, and lead bookkeeping projects, secondment roles, forecasting, and budgeting, and other ad hoc department projects
  • Oversight of billing and fees including budgeting and the timely preparation of invoices
  • Drive high-quality service delivery within expected timeframes and on budget
  • Bring technical expertise and a strong knowledge and application of various accounting standards, primarily FRS 102
  • Ensure appropriate maintenance of financial information for a broad range of clients using various accounting software packages including Xero, QuickBooks, Dext, Approval Max, etc.
  • Creating and updating financial statements as required and in conjunction with the team using accounts production software
  • Remaining up-to-date with all accounting and regulatory standards to ensure compliance with all legislative practices
  • Liaising with various external stakeholders providing support as required, including external auditors as part of the year-end audit process for individual clients
  • Building strong relationships with client representatives
  • Manage expectations of client service delivery
  • Foster an innovative and inclusive team-oriented work environment and play an active role in mentoring junior team members within the organisation
