Pathology Technician Role Overview

A full-time, permanent position has become available in our laboratory department for a skilled Pathology Technician.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing routine work to the highest professional standards in the histopathology laboratory.

This includes specimen transfer, embedding tissue, microtomy, special stains, case layout, sample referral, equipment maintenance, and block & slide filing as applicable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performing routine work in the histopathology laboratory
  • Transferring specimens, embedding tissue, and conducting microtomy
  • Applying special stains and arranging case layouts
  • Maintaining equipment and filing blocks & slides
Requirements
  • Hold a BSc in Biomedical or Biological Sciences, preferably with practical experience in Histopathology
  • Possess at least 1 year of experience in a medical laboratory since qualifying with a science degree
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and awareness of patient needs
