Corporate Tax Director

We are seeking a seasoned Corporate Tax Director to lead our expanding Tax department. This high-profile role will leverage your technical expertise to develop innovative solutions for complex tax issues, manage a team on challenging assignments, and oversee a portfolio of key clients.

Main Responsibilities
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong client relationships at a senior level, acting as the main point of contact for your portfolio.
  • Portfolio Management: Handle a portfolio of large, complex client assignments, offering bespoke solutions to tax challenges. You will proactively address increasingly complex technical matters, with a focus on domestic corporates, including large groups and multinational companies.
  • Technical Expertise: Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of corporate tax issues such as corporate interest restrictions, corporate loss reform, and Senior Accounting Officer queries.
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, meeting financial targets and participating in tender processes by crafting personalized proposals.
  • Tax Advisory: Serve as the primary advisor for sophisticated tax matters, analyzing and interpreting data to identify business issues and applying technical knowledge to develop effective solutions.
  • Risk Management: Maintain a thorough understanding of our risk management processes, ensuring compliance with established procedures.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead, coach, and mentor managers and junior team members, providing regular feedback, conducting appraisals, and fostering team growth and development.
Key Qualifications & Skills
  • Qualifications: ACA, ACCA, or CTA qualified.
  • Experience: A minimum of 7 years post-qualification experience within a tax department of a large practice, ideally in a leading firm.
  • Technical Expertise: Proven ability to navigate complex tax issues and identify opportunities for clients.
  • Leadership: A respected and approachable leader, who takes an active interest in team performance and wellbeing.
  • Self-Motivation: Capable of working independently while addressing broader team challenges.
  • Relationship Building: Skilled at developing trusted relationships with both clients and team members.
