Management Accountant Role

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Management Accountant to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is Newly Qualified or 1-3 years post qualified, keen to take their step up in their career.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality financial reporting and analysis, ensuring the timely and accurate production of monthly management reports. They will also be responsible for preparing and submitting VAT returns, compiling and submitting Intra Stat declarations, and performing monthly reconciliations for all bank accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Reporting into Finance Director, duties include:
    • Ensuring the timely and accurate production of monthly management reports, including P&L, balance sheet, and supporting analysis.
    • Preparing and submitting VAT returns in accordance with HMRC deadlines, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
    • Preparing and posting standard and ad hoc journals including accruals, prepayments, payroll, and other necessary adjustments.
    • Compiling and submitting Intra Stat declarations, ensuring regulatory compliance.
    • Performing monthly reconciliations for all bank accounts, ensuring any discrepancies are promptly identified and resolved.
  • Supporting the Finance Director and wider team with ad-hoc duties as required, including financial analysis, audit preparation, and process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

Skills and Qualifications

  • Newly Qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or 1-3 years post qualified - QBE with relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of reporting standards.
  • Strong technical knowledge.
