Procurement Specialist

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and managing the procurement of materials, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards are met. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills to review customer needs, incoming orders, and historical trends through data analysis.

This position involves cross-functional collaboration with various departments to ensure customer requirements are fulfilled. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills to effectively manage multiple tasks and prioritize accordingly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet business objectives.
  • Forecast demand for products at an individual SKU level using data analysis and external information.
  • Support logistical needs for importing & exporting goods from suppliers.
  • Monitor incoming material deliveries and communicate delays to relevant departments.
  • Ensure all consumables are delivered on time to avoid production delays.
  • Maintain accurate records in accordance with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 management systems.
  • Support staff development and training where required.

Requirements:

The following qualifications and skills are desired:

  • 3rd Level education in Statistics, Supply Chain or Engineering (or equivalent business experience).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, lean thinking, and statistical process control skills.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint and Excel) with advanced Excel skills.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal/teamwork and leadership skills.
  • Ability to influence people to achieve departmental and plant mission, vision, and objectives.
  • Results orientation, independent performance, and ability to balance priorities and tasks.
  • Resourcefulness, business acumen, creative thinking, and decision-making abilities.
