Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced retail professional to fill the role of Assistant Store Manager. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing daily store operations and ensuring exceptional customer service.

About the Role

This is a mid-senior level position that requires strong leadership and communication skills. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day store operations, including customer service, sales, payroll, inventory control, and asset protection. Additionally, you will oversee operational teams, manage employee development, and maintain high standards of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, implement, and follow up on weekly sales programs to drive business growth.
  • Manage store payroll and budget, collaborating with management to meet sales, profit, and productivity goals.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Oversee operational teams, including department managers and associates.
  • Expose part-time associates and department managers to other skill areas and identify team leaders and promising internal candidates.
  • Conduct regular store tours to evaluate conditions versus standards and respond accordingly.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior work experience as an Assistant Store Manager or Store Manager in a grocery company or big box retail company.
  • Experience managing people, departments, and/or whole stores.
  • Proficiency in scheduling, ordering, inventory, payroll, P&L analysis, project management, and personnel management.
  • Knowledge of employment law, interview techniques, and general retail hiring practices.
