Job Role

We are seeking an experienced Hydrologist to lead the assessment, management and modelling of surface water and groundwater systems in Ireland.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in hydrology and passion for solving real-world water resource challenges.

  • Conduct assessments and analysis of hydrological data, climate resilience planning and nature-based solutions using tools such as HEC-HMS and MIKE SHE.
  • Liaise with project teams including engineers, planners, ecologists and other environmental professionals to ensure effective collaboration and delivery of projects.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports, planning documentation and client presentations to showcase expertise and provide valuable insights.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Hydrology, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in environmental or engineering hydrology with proficiency in GIS and hydrological modelling software.
  • Strong analytical, numerical and report writing skills with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Familiarity with Irish water legislation, flood risk guidelines and EPA methodologies is essential.
  • Full clean driving licence and willingness to undertake fieldwork is required.
  • Chartered status with CIWEM, IEI or equivalent is highly desirable.
