About the Job

This role offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity to work as an Assistant Financial Controller at Clayton Cork City. As a key member of our finance function, you will be responsible for managing controls and compliance, ensuring reporting is maintained to a high standard, and providing business acumen to parties within and outside the finance function.

You will work closely with other hotel departments to ensure understanding of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), review costs, and implement processes to achieve savings. You will also prepare and review weekly revenue and payroll forecasts, champion the month-end process, and support the General Manager.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication, organisational, analytical, and management skills, with a proven track record in an accountancy role. A thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures is essential, as well as 2-3 years' experience in an accountancy role.

Responsibilities:

  • Commercial Focus: Review costs, implement processes to achieve savings, work closely with other hotel departments to ensure understanding of KPIs, review margins, and highlight areas for improvement.
  • People Focus: Support and become a key advisor to the Financial Controller and General Manager, assist in writing and implementing training plans and courses for non-financial managers, and build relationships with Heads of Department and staff.
  • Controls and Compliance: Ensure all financial controls and procedures are robust, sustainable, maintained, and updated, examine Internal Audit Reports, and agree corrective actions.
  • Month End: Prepare the Month-end lead schedule, reconcile balance sheet control accounts, manage the collection of debts on a timely basis, and ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of income audits.
