Senior Environmental Planning Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Planning Specialist to lead and manage complex projects in a hybrid working model. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who wish to take their career to the next level.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in environmental planning, environmental impact assessment, and project management. They will be responsible for managing and coordinating environmental impact assessments for various large-scale projects, overseeing the preparation and submission of environmental impact assessment reports, and leading planning applications.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate environmental impact assessments for various large-scale projects.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of environmental impact assessment reports.
  • Lead planning applications and conduct pre-application consultations with local authorities.
  • Collaborate with clients, authorities, and internal teams to ensure project delivery within budget and time constraints.
  • Supervise and mentor a small internal EIA team and external subcontractors.
  • Ensure compliance with Irish environmental and planning legislation.
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders in renewable energy, construction, and food & drink industries.
  • Identify project challenges, provide solutions, and ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Drive continuous improvement in project management processes and methodologies.
Requirements
  • A third-level qualification (Degree/Masters) in environmental science or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in environmental planning and EIA management.
  • Proven experience in Irish planning legislation and EIAR report writing.
  • Strong ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and oversee multiple projects concurrently.
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
