Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our project delivery team, you will be responsible for providing cost-conscious and safe engineering services to a large semi-state client on a period contract.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and promote best practice in health, safety, and environmental matters in conjunction with the SHQE department.
  • Manage resources to complete works in a timely and safe manner while engaging with the client to ensure Murphy is professionally executing its role as PSCS.
  • Monitor work under your control to ensure any unsafe work conditions and non-compliance with company policies and procedures are promptly remedied.
  • Maintain good working relations with the client and together with our supply chain.
  • Support the selection and requisition of materials and plant for use in the construction process.
  • Support the team with written risk assessments and method statements for the control of works.
  • Keep a full and accurate daily site diary, including changes/ variations, subcontractors' attendance, and records of work-related discussions with client/designer/project team.
  • Participate in and positively promote the Murphy Never Harm Programme.
  • Undertake any reasonable duties expected of you.
  • Ensure compliance with the company's policies and procedures.
  • Attend and engage fully in any learning and development activities deemed appropriate by your line management.
  • KPI review of figures being processed daily, weekly, monthly.

Requirements:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual with the following skills and qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of proven experience in coordinating high-volume works in various workstreams.
  • Ability to produce, implement, and manage safe systems of work for construction procedures.
  • Accountable for coordinating weekly and daily activities with the Site Foreman, Engineers, and Other Site Staff.
  • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, clients, and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensuring onsite systems comply with internal policies and regulatory standards in health & safety, wellbeing, environment, quality, and sustainability.
  • Overseeing that construction tasks adhere to designer's drawings and relevant specifications.
  • Proven people management skills including management of subcontractors.
  • Proven client and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent people skills with proven leadership qualities and ability to motivate others.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, planning, and time management skills.
