Job Overview:
The Maintenance Team Member performs a variety of tasks to ensure the maintenance and repair of residential and commercial locations. This role involves receiving requests from facilities staff to support all facility activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide solutions that meet health and safety standards for residential and commercial locations as assigned, including windows, doors, door locks, plaster, drywall, light fixtures, and minor plumbing.
- Repair or install electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment.
- Assess and report on household systems: HVAC, appliances.
- Secure necessary resources for task completion.
- Serve as point-person with outside vendors and provide recommendations to the facilities team.
- Perform preventive maintenance on residential and commercial locations.
- Complete licensing preparation in accordance with regulations.
- Conduct property assessments.
Requirements:
This role requires one year's experience in residential or commercial facilities maintenance, excellent verbal communication skills, and computer proficiency with Microsoft Outlook (email). A high school diploma or GED is required.
Additional Skills:
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
- Effective presentation and question-answering skills.
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Outlook (email) is required.
- Problem-solving and critical thinking are utilized regularly.
- Accurate accounting for expenditures in accordance with policy and procedures.
- Budget awareness and informed spending decisions.
- Basic knowledge and experience in carpentry, plumbing, electricity, and mechanical tasks.
- Routine manual labor tasks and work site clean-up.
Physical Demands:
This role requires regular sitting, talking, or hearing, and frequent use of hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands/arms. Occasional standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, or crouching may be required, along with lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Assistance or devices may be needed when lifting or carrying items over 50 lbs.
