Job Summary

This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate-level professional to represent the organization on technical issues. The individual will work closely with the research and development, sales, and production teams to ensure that all products are produced in a safe and legal manner, in compliance with best practices.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all products align with both the company's policies and the retailer's policies and strategies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Having an awareness of food science and nutrition, with a focus on best practices and legislative requirements - food safety, hygiene, and nutritional requirements.
  • Assisting with quality operations, procedures, and document control.
  • Maintaining and updating department files, including SOPs, risk assessments, HACCP documents, and quality management documents.
  • Carrying out scheduled audits.
  • Evaluating written SOPs and their implementation.
  • Managing non-conformance logs and logging complaints.
  • Communicating complaints to relevant personnel.
  • Assisting with investigations into complaints, including root cause analysis.
  • Sampling microbiological and chemical aspects of finished products and raw materials as per schedule.
  • Conducting internal audits and assisting with external and customer audits.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have or demonstrate:

  • A degree in a related discipline, such as Food Technology, Nutrition, or Agricultural Science.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Decisiveness and teamwork skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral & written).
  • HACCP training is an advantage.
