Lead Ecologist Role

About the Position:

  • A senior ecologist leading impactful projects and shaping the future of ecology in Ireland.
  • Working across renewables, transport, and conservation while contributing to the growth of a dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead national-scale ecological consultancy across a diverse portfolio of projects—spanning onshore renewables, infrastructure, and biodiversity enhancement.
  2. Shape technical delivery, mentor emerging talent, and support strategic growth into nature-based solutions, restoration, and climate-resilient ecological planning.
Requirements:
  • At least 6 years' experience in ecological consultancy or a related field.
  • Strong track record of leading complex, multi-sector ecological projects.
  • Deep understanding of Irish and EU environmental legislation and planning frameworks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strategic mindset.
  • Confidence managing multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience mentoring junior staff and supporting team development.
  • Full CIEEM membership (or equivalent).
