Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Supervisor to oversee the mechanical design process and provide technical expertise on specialized design projects within the pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device industries.
About the Role- Assess project requirements and work with project managers to determine the scope of work while overseeing budget and staffing.
- Write scopes of work for mechanical designs based on preliminary reviews and client meetings.
- Prepare engineering studies and schematic designs for new mechanical systems and analyze the operation of existing systems.
- Work with code officials and other design professionals when an interpretation or exception to building codes is required.
- Assign and review the work of project design teams.
- Ability to perform target cost design work when projects have initial target construction costs.
- Coordinates all aspects of project document completion within the company, externally with clients, and with other relevant design professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- 15 years of engineering experience with ten of those doing mechanical designs on industrial, light industrial, or large-scale commercial projects.
- Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Around 5 years of central utility plant design experience related to chilled water, condenser water, hot water, and steam systems.
- Working knowledge of energy analysis and simulation software systems.
- Working knowledge of piping analysis and modeling software.
