Engineering Apprenticeship

About the Role:

Kepak is a leading meat processor with a portfolio of market-leading brands. We are seeking an Engineering Apprentice to join our team at our production facility in Dublin.

The successful candidate will be supported by a Mentor who will guide them through their apprenticeship and help them achieve their qualification. This apprenticeship programme is the perfect entry point into engineering, and the wider food industry, through a structured apprenticeship programme and on-the-job training plan.

As an apprentice, you will earn while you learn – Kepak pays you while you are being trained. You will have the opportunity to work as part of a team and contribute to innovation in engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out effective Planned Preventative Maintenance as directed
  • Perform maintenance and rectification works following audits, inspections, and production reports
  • Implement improvements to plant and equipment to reduce repeat common point failures and improve site efficiencies
  • Keep workshops, plant rooms, and engineering storage areas clean and tidy
  • Service and maintain workshop tools and equipment
  • Keep up-to-date records of work completed on paper-based and computer systems
  • Report any risks or issues related to equipment, packaging, or raw materials

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Mathematical techniques, formulae, and calculations in a mechatronics maintenance environment
  • Understanding of mechanical, electrical, electronic, fluid power, and process control principles in a mechatronics maintenance environment
  • Fault diagnostic methods, techniques, and equipment used when maintaining equipment and systems
  • Condition monitoring methods and equipment used
  • Supports the planning of maintenance activities
