Financial Technology Expertise

A seasoned Scala developer is sought after by a leader in the financial technology sector to join their team and contribute to designing and implementing a strategic platform that powers financial regulatory reporting.

This role offers a unique opportunity for professional growth and collaboration with top-tier teams of Business Analysts, Solution Architects, and global Technology teams.

The ideal candidate will be integral to defining and delivering solutions that meet technical requirements, partnering closely with Business Analysts and collaborating with Technology support teams to uphold best practices and high-quality standards.

  • Define and implement scalable, efficient, and secure architecture for a regulatory reporting application.
  • Partner with Business Analysts to develop detailed functional and technical specifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery and seamless functionality.
  • Continuously evaluate and adopt new techniques to improve the platform.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards and regulations.

Required skills and qualifications include:

  • Minimum 3 years with Scala
  • At least 3 years in software development
  • Proven experience in implementing RESTful APIs and Microservices
  • Skilled with SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Agile team experience (Scrum or Kanban)
  • Exposure to large, fast-paced project environments

Desirable skills include familiarity with MongoDB, Cassandra, MS SQL Server, functional programming knowledge, experience with Scala streaming libraries like Akka Streams, ZIO, fs2, Jenkins and Ansible expertise, prior work with global teams across time zones, experience with Atlassian suite (Confluence, JIRA, Bitbucket), and background in regulatory reporting or capital markets.

Key Responsibilities:

Work closely with the Business Analysts to define solutions that meet technical requirements and partner with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery and seamless functionality.
