Job Overview
A highly skilled Senior Java Technical Lead is sought to provide technical leadership and guidance on application design options, manage delivery as agreed and align team resources as required. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience as a Java Technical Lead, preferably in the public sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance on application design options
  • Manage delivery as agreed and align team resources as required
  • Manage project source code and documentation
  • Build high-performing, scalable, enterprise-grade applications
  • Develop Java applications while providing expertise in the full software development lifecycle
  • Expertise in Java development with industry-standard frameworks such as Quarkus/Spring Boot
  • Microservice and API development using RESTful design and implementation
  • Understanding of API security protocols such as OAuth 2.0/OpenID Connect
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes, API managers, and WebLogic
  • Experience with OpenShift Container platform, 3scale API, and KeyCloak
  • Testing frameworks and TDD using Cucumber or JUnit
  • Databases: Relational (Oracle)
  • Coding in adherence to application standards
  • Maintain, tune, and repair applications to meet technical and functional specifications
  • Perform preventive maintenance activities and provide user support
  • Integrate technical and application components to meet business requirements
  • Complete assigned tasks related to phases of development lifecycle
  • Ensure deliverables are tested to meet defined standards before deployment
  • Conduct Developer Code Reviews to ensure adherence to Java coding standards
  • Provide continuity in major application solution decisions
  • Progress and manage technical change items/requests
  • Advise developers on best practice and optimal approach in software development
  • Organize skills/knowledge transfer and mentoring to team members
  • Creation of unit and integration test plans
  • Writing and execution of unit and integration test plans
  • Incident resolution

Requirements:
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject

Technical Skills:
  • Leading and coordinating development teams to produce optimized code
  • Designing application interfaces and software services for maximized reuse
  • Leading teams in Java application development and the full software development lifecycle
  • Use of Spring, JavaScript, Angular2+, Quarkus, HTML, XML, CSS, or equivalent
  • Developing web services
  • Administering a Jenkins instance to build windows executables

  • Strong client-facing skills with the ability to build trust and communicate effectively
  • Ability to lead and mentor, fostering a culture of learning and knowledge sharing
  • Collaborative team player
  • Self-driven and disciplined
