Job Description:

We are seeking an exceptional educator to join our team as a Clinical Tutor/Lecturer in Emergency Medicine. The successful candidate will contribute to the development, direction, teaching, facilitation, and examinations of the undergraduate teaching programme in Emergency Medicine.

The principal objective of the post is to promote Connolly Hospital as a centre of excellence for EM education in Ireland, while maximising all educational opportunities within the Emergency Department and promoting multidisciplinary work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contributing to clinical teaching programmes in junior, intermediate, and senior cycles of four and five-year programmes
  • Assessing students in junior, intermediate, and senior cycles of four and five-year programmes, including developing, delivering, and evaluating these activities
  • Liaising with department heads, project leaders, and other relevant faculty members to plan, deliver, and evaluate teaching programmes
  • Providing resources and communication with student groups via virtual learning environments
  • Delivering curriculum at multiple sites, such as assigned hospitals, RCSI Campus St Stephens Green, and RCSI Sandyford Institute of Leadership & Healthcare Management
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Conducting research, with outcomes defined by relevant department heads
  • Performing clinical work on-site in RCSI Teaching Hospitals, with details and commitment to be defined by relevant department heads
  • Ensuring adherence to Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland policies and procedures
  • Complying with statutory legislation and department rules and requirements for staff welfare and safety
  • Representing the best interests of the department/RCSI at all times
  • Performing other duties as required from time to time
