Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Systems Development Engineer to spearhead the European Sovereign Cloud initiative. As part of our Managed Operations team, you will play a pivotal role in building and leading operations and development teams dedicated to delivering high-availability AWS services.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in automation and operations, with experience designing and implementing systemic solutions that fundamentally reduce operational complexity and cost across AWS regions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement scalable automation systems that eliminate operational toil and standardize workflows.
  • Create systemic solutions that deliver lasting improvements in reliability, availability, and performance of distributed software systems.
  • Closely collaborate with service teams, operational staff, and leadership to identify pain points and architect solutions.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in software development or related field.
  • Proficient in at least one modern programming language such as Java, Typescript, Python, or Ruby.
  • Experience operating, troubleshooting, and performance tuning software applications and optimizing fleet utilization.
  • Strong understanding of network fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, routing, load balancing, load shedding).
