Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Decommissioning Specialist to lead the decommissioning process of media types including disks, solid state disks, and flash cards. This role requires strong leadership skills to guide and mentor a team in ensuring all work is carried out safely and securely.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Routinely reviewing ticket queues for large events and addressing them accordingly
  • Coordinating change management resources
  • Guiding, training, and educating data staff on best practices related to service owner issues
  • Managing mid-size projects
  • Recommending, documenting, and overseeing policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and SLAs
  • Managing a diverse team of decom technicians with varying skills
  • Providing weekly reports to the Cluster Manager
  • Maintaining the on-call schedule, coordinating absence and vacations
  • Recruiting and training decom technicians to ensure appropriate staffing levels

Responsibilities

Our team owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all global infrastructure. We work on challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience managing large-scale projects
  • Experience leading an IT function or similar role

Preferred Qualifications

The following qualifications would be beneficial:

  • Experience managing IT infrastructure projects from initiation to closure
  • Experience with project management best practices such as PMI, Waterfall, and Agile
