This is an exciting opportunity to work within a busy service, providing invaluable assessments to families. This hybrid role is located in Dublin for a suitably qualified Clinical/ Counselling Psychologist working within a Neurodevelopmental Assessment Team.

Some aspects of the role may be undertaken remotely. Multiple roles are available to attract candidates with differing levels of experience- including senior roles.

The role requires conducting comprehensive specialist assessments including diagnostic assessments of individuals with suspected Neurodevelopmental conditions including Autism, ADHD and learning disability assessments using established diagnostic tools. Assessments of Mental health conditions may also be required. Assessments are undertaken on behalf of the HSE.

The clinician is also responsible for writing up assessment reports in a timely and professional manner, as well as providing appropriate recommendations and interventions. Additionally, the clinician may be involved in supervising and supporting junior staff members depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive specialist assessments
  • Undertake diagnostic assessments of individuals with suspected Neurodevelopmental conditions
  • Write up assessment reports in a timely and professional manner
  • Provide appropriate recommendations and interventions
  • Supervise and support junior staff members
Requirements
  • A recognised University degree or diploma (NQAI Level 8 equivalent)
  • A postgraduate professional psychological qualification recognised by the Psychological Society of Ireland in Clinical or Counselling Psychology
  • Eligibility to work in the Republic of Ireland
  • Experience in conducting diagnostic Neurodevelopmental/Specialist developmental assessments with children
  • Experience working with children and adults with neurodevelopmental disorders or mental health difficulties in a clinical setting
  • Knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostic criteria and appropriate assessment tools for Autism, ADHD and learning disability
  • ADOS-2/ADI-R trained
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
