Limerick, Limerick, Ireland Pale Blue Dot Recruitment Full time

We are seeking an experienced Electronics Hardware Specialist to join our dynamic engineering team working on innovative medical technologies. As an essential member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing hardware systems incorporating wireless communication, neuromodulation, and physiological sensing.

This role focuses on supporting validation, manufacturing, and product lifecycle activities. Key responsibilities include collaborating with the Product Development team to design, build, and test current and next-generation medical devices. You will also support all phases of product development, from concept through to post-production, and participate in circuit prototyping and managing relationships with prototyping service providers.

In this position, you will contribute to validation testing including EMC, wireless coexistence, safety, reliability, and performance. You will also facilitate design transfer by working closely with manufacturing and quality teams, provide technical support to manufacturing to optimize production processes and ensure efficiency, and design, develop, and validate custom PCBA test equipment for internal product testing.

A strong foundation in digital and low-noise analog circuit design is required. Proficiency in embedded systems development, including C/C++ programming and interfacing with microcontrollers (e.g., Bluetooth, UART), experience working with PCB fabricators and assembly vendors, with an understanding of IPC standards, and familiarity with CAD tools and simulation software (e.g., Altium, SPICE, MATLAB) are also essential.

Effective communication skills, analytical thinking, and multitasking abilities are necessary to present technical ideas across all levels of the organization. Additionally, knowledge of risk management practices (e.g., FMEA, ISO), experience applying statistical methods and tools such as R, STATA, or MATLAB, and understanding of Lean principles and continuous improvement practices are preferred.
