Volunteer Role: Fundraising Expert

Job Description:

The Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Outreach Project is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our Board as a Fundraising Expert. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about fundraising and making a positive impact in their community.

This role will require the successful candidate to lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive fundraising strategy that aligns with our Vision, Mission and financial objectives. They will also be responsible for collaborating closely with our management team and actively participating in Board Meetings.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a fundraising strategy that drives growth and success.
  • Board Engagement: Participate in Board Meetings and contribute strategic insights and advice.
  • Committee Involvement: Serve as a member of at least one Subcommittee and drive fundraising efforts.
  • Resource Development: Explore innovative approaches to diversify income streams and secure sustainable funding.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, you will need to have:

  • Proven experience in fundraising strategies, including knowledge of various fundraising methods such as grant application processes, corporate sponsorship, individual giving and digital fundraising.
  • Strong networking skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors and stakeholders.
  • Ability to contribute to our Strategic Planning and Communications Strategy so as to support and shape the fundraising strategy to align with our goals.
  • Familiarity with governance responsibilities and the regulatory and legal requirements relating to fundraising.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • A genuine passion for our Vision and Mission and the work of the organisation in the community it serves.
Benefits:

This is a voluntary role with no remuneration provided. However, the organisation will meet any out-of-pocket expenses incurred in fulfilling your role as a board member.

You will also have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the community and develop valuable skills and experience.

Others:

The term of office for this role is 3 years, subject to satisfactory review and Board approval. You will be required to complete a Conflict of Interest Declaration Form on Induction and to work in line with our Governance Handbook and policies and procedures in relation to confidentiality and data protection.

Approximate time commitment: 4-6 hours per month.
