Job Overview
">We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated professional to support our ongoing mining operations and exploration projects.
">The ideal candidate will have a strong background in economic geology, mineral resource estimation, and mine geology, with experience working in active mining environments.
">Key Responsibilities:
">- Conduct geological mapping, core logging, sampling, and data collection for both surface and underground operations.
- Interpret geological data to support resource modeling, grade control, and mine planning.
- Assist in the design and execution of drilling programs, including RC and diamond drilling.
- Utilize geological software (e.g., Leapfrog, Surpac, Micromine) for 3D modeling and data interpretation.
- Collaborate with mine engineers, surveyors, and metallurgists to optimize extraction plans.
- Monitor and report on ore quality and ensure reconciliation of production against geological models.
- Maintain and update geological databases in line with QA/QC procedures.
- Prepare technical reports, maps, and cross-sections for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
">- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a mining or exploration geology role (base metals, zinc-lead-silver preferred).
- Strong understanding of structural geology and ore deposit models.
- Proficiency in geological modeling software and GIS tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Full driving license and willingness to travel or relocate to site as needed.
- Knowledge of Irish geology and mining regulations is an advantage.
