Job Title: Specialist in Trauma Surgery

We are seeking an experienced Specialist in Trauma Surgery to join our team at Cork University Hospital and South Infirmary Victoria University Hospital.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be required to commence on a Monday, commencing a new role as a Specialist in Trauma Surgery. The trauma and orthopaedic surgery services are provided in both Cork University Hospital and South Infirmary Victoria University Hospital.

As a Specialist in Trauma Surgery, you will be responsible for managing trauma cases and providing surgical expertise to patients. You will also be expected to maintain accurate records of your cases and provide education to junior staff members.

In addition to your clinical responsibilities, you will also be involved in the development of trauma protocols and guidelines within the hospital. This will involve working closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure that our services are evidence-based and effective.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Degree in Medicine (MB BCh BAO or equivalent)
  • Completion of General Practice training programme
  • Registration with Medical Council of Ireland
  • Competence in performing surgical procedures

You will have excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues from various disciplines. A high level of empathy and understanding of patient needs is essential for this role.
