Senior Grade Genetic Counsellor
Role Overview:The key purpose of this position is to increase access to genetic testing and counselling for individuals with cancer, as well as their families.
Main Responsibilities:- To comprehend the medical aspects of a patient's condition, including diagnosis, prognosis, and available management options.
- To understand how heredity contributes to the disorder and the risk of recurrence in specified relatives.
- To provide ongoing support to patients and their families in making informed decisions about their condition.
- To support patients/families in adjusting to their condition and managing risk.
- An approved Master of Science degree in Genetic/Genomic Counselling or an equivalent qualification recognised by a relevant professional body.
- Current registration with a relevant professional body.
- A minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience in clinical genetics.
- Maintenance of live registration with a relevant professional body.
