Job Title: Experienced Physiotherapist

We are seeking a skilled and highly motivated Experienced Physiotherapist to join our team in Limerick.

About the Role:

As an Experienced Physiotherapist, you will play a key role in the assessment, treatment, and discharge planning of patients across a range of acute inpatient wards including medical, surgical, orthopaedics, and rehabilitation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough initial and ongoing assessments of patients using appropriate outcome measures and clinical reasoning.
  • Develop and implement individualised treatment and rehabilitation plans based on patient-specific goals.
  • Deliver evidence-based physiotherapy interventions including mobilisation and rehabilitation post-surgery, neurological rehabilitation and functional and strength-based rehab for frailty, deconditioning, or long-term conditions.
  • Manage a varied caseload across acute medical, surgical, orthopaedics, neurology, ICU, or care of the elderly.
  • Prioritise patients effectively based on clinical urgency and ward demands.
  • Participate in rapid discharge pathways, early supported discharge, and weekend planning.
  • Actively participate in daily ward rounds, MDT case reviews, and discharge planning meetings.
  • Collaborate with consultants, nurses, occupational therapists, social workers, and discharge coordinators to ensure safe and timely discharges.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and families about goals, progress, and post-discharge care.
