Environmental Planning Professional

The primary objective of this role is to oversee and deliver environmental planning projects, focusing on Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), planning applications, and associated reports.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and lead the preparation of Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs) and related planning documentation.
  • Manage the environmental planning aspects of infrastructure, renewable energy, and development projects, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide strategic advice on planning and environmental policy, facilitating compliance with statutory bodies and regulations.
  • Coordinate effectively with internal specialists and external consultants across disciplines, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Undertake site visits, surveys, and environmental risk assessments as necessary to inform decision-making.
  • Engage in dialogue with local authorities, statutory bodies, and community stakeholders to ensure effective communication and stakeholder management.
  • Support business development initiatives, including proposal writing and client relationship management to drive growth and opportunities.
  • Monitor and stay up-to-date with legislative and policy developments relevant to environmental planning in Ireland, applying this knowledge to inform project delivery.

Successful candidates will possess a strong understanding of Irish and EU planning and environmental legislation, including the Planning and Development Act and EIA Directive. Experience in preparing EIARs and planning applications is essential, accompanied by excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
