Design Coordinator Role

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as the ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.

This role requires a high degree of organization and attention to detail. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that design aligns with project requirements while minimizing conflicts or errors during construction.

The key responsibilities include:

* Engaging with the Design & Build (D+B) Design Team and other team members in a purposeful and organized manner.
* Managing design delivery project documentation.
* Prioritizing health and safety, sustainability, cost, time, constructability, and quality in approach.
* Leading weekly Design Team / Information meetings with the Design Manager.
* Collaborating with the Project Manager / Contracts Manager and site team to review upcoming information requirements.
* Tracking the Design Release / Schedule of information.
* Attending design/technical workshops with subcontractors and design teams to agree on systems/products.
* Overseeing and compiling Material / Technical "RDD" Submittals (MTS / TS) for issuance to the D+B Design Team.
* Communicating with the Design Team and subcontractors until submittals reach the required approval status.
* Completing and issuing MTS's (''RDD'') to the client (Department of Education) TA's / MDTT.
* Familiarizing with the DOES's General Works Requirements (GWR) and project-specific SSWR.
* Ensuring all MTS / TS comply with GWR, SSWR, and contract documents.
* Overseeing the issuance of Design Submissions (DS's) and Designer Checklists via the Autodesk (ACC) CDE.
* Updating trackers for Design Submissions and MTS/TS regularly.
* Maintaining the RFI tracker and issuing RFIs as needed.
* Ensuring site team is informed of and working with the latest design revisions.
* Managing site Benchmark Mockups / FoK's, recording and reporting on them.
* Building good relationships with the client's Assigned Certifier and MTS reviewers.
* Ensuring MTS from subcontractors have up-to-date documents like DOPs / CE markings.
* Assisting with BCAR management, site inspections, and documentation receipt.
* Supporting site QA/QC and closeout issues from DT and Certifier.
* Updating the project QS on design changes impacting costs.
* Completing the design section of bi-weekly progress reports.
