Warehouse Manager Job Opportunity

The ideal candidate will be a proactive and experienced leader who can optimise the daily operations of our warehouse. The successful individual will be responsible for managing a team, ensuring the accurate and timely handling of stock and deliveries, and maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient working environment.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your leadership skills and take charge of a dynamic team. You will have the ability to make decisions, implement new procedures, and continuously improve processes.

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring timely handling of stock, and preparation of storage areas. This includes coordinating goods-in processes, such as unloading, put-away, and inter-branch transfers (IBTs). Additionally, you will manage container deliveries, ensuring timely and safe unloading.

  • Lead a team to achieve high performance and foster a positive, collaborative work culture.
  • Plan and coordinate daily workloads, delivery schedules, and truck loading/unloading.
  • Manage rotas to ensure adequate staffing and efficient workflow.
  • Prioritise and delegate tasks to meet operational deadlines.

As a skilled leader, you will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and support a team. You will also be able to identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in warehouse operations and stock control.

  • Lead regular cycle counts and organise the annual stocktake.
  • Monitor team performance, mentor staff, and support professional development.
  • Address conflicts professionally and constructively.
  • Ensure all operations comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised warehouse environment.
  • Manage team absences and holidays to minimise disruption.
  • Conduct risk assessments and enforce adherence to safety protocols.
Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Proven experience in warehouse or logistics management.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent planning, organisational, and delegation skills.
  • Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Skilled in conflict resolution and team motivation.
  • Proficient with warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Good understanding of health & safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Forklift licence (desirable, but not essential).
